I currently serve as the President of LETOA, having been elected to that position in September 2006. Prior to being elected President, I served as a director, Secretary and Historian. I have been on the Board of Directors since 1997. I am a Criminal Justice Instructor at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. I’ve been there since August 1995. I currently am the Faculty Team Leader which is a combination of coordinating continuing education/specialized training, and teaching in our Associate Degree Program and Law Enforcement Academy. I am certified to teach in many of the basic training topic areas and I am a Master SFST Instructor and a Radar instructor. I served as one of the original members of the Professional Communication Skills Advisory Committee and currently serve on the Dept. of Justice Relational Skills Advisory Committee, and the Dept. of Transportation SFST Advisory Committee. I am the past Chair of the Wisconsin Criminal Justice Coordinators Council. Prior to coming to NTC, I was a Police Officer with the Greenfield Police Dept. for about 8 years, and a Police Officer for University Police at UW-Milwaukee for about 2 years. I also worked part-time for a number of small agencies and the DNR in northwestern Wisconsin while I was in college. I am married to a very understanding wife and have two fantastic sons which keep me running from swimming to baseball to soccer to football to Boy Scouts. I enjoy camping with my family, hunting and fishing. |

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for L.E.T.O.A., having been elected to that position in September 2006. I have been an active member of L.E.T.O.A. since 2000.
Since 1996, I have been a police officer with the City of Sun Prairie, also serving as a tactical instructor for the past 14 years in the disciplines of EVOC, Vehicle Contacts, and D.A.A.T. Some of my past positions with Sun Prairie have included detective, school liaison officer, field training officer, and DARE officer.
I am a part-time instructor at Madison Area Technical College for the recruit academies.
I am currently serving as a member of the Patrol Procedures Advisory Committee through the Department of Justice, and have served as a past member of the Vehicle Contacts Advisory Committee.
My hobbies include cooking, fishing, reading, traveling, and riding my Harley.

I'm currently a Special Agent in Charge with the Wausau Regional Office Narcotics Bureau, Wisconsin Department of Justice / Division of Criminal Investigation. I've held previous law enforcement positions as a State DNR Park Ranger, Berlin Police Officer, Polk County Deputy Sheriff, Wisconsin State Trooper and DCI Special Agent as well as many part-time law enforcement positions back in my "early days". I have an Associates Degree in Police Science, a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and am a FBI National Academy graduate. I enjoy teaching police recruits, in-service and specialized training in topics ranging from ethics to EVO to firearms and a variety of scenario-based training. I'm happily married to my wife Kari and enjoy raising my 3 boys; Jonathan, Daniel and Joshua. We are very involved in many things including church activities, music, sports, camping, kayaking and a plethora of others. |

Ken Hammond is the Director of the WI Department of Justice - Training & Standards Bureau. He earned a Master's in Public Administration from the Univ of WI - Madison's Lafollette Institute of Public Affairs in 1999. He worked for Sun Prairie Police for 25 years in a variety of positions from Radio Dispatcher thru Assistant to the Chief. Ken recognizes the value & sense of achievement that comes from the pursuit of life-long learning & is a strong advocate of quality training & education. |

I have been employed since October 5th, 1998 as a police officer with the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and I’m currently assigned to the Training and Community Services Division as a Lieutenant. My additional department responsibilities include: a Defensive and Arrest Tactics Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Vehicle Contacts Instructor, Professional Communication Skills Instructor, TASER International Instructor, Report Writing Instructor, Patrol Procedures Instructor, Tactical Response Instructor, Scene Management Instructor, and Field Training Coordinator and Supervisor. My outside activities have included: an Adjunct Instructor of Police Science Technology for recruit training and associate degree students at Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton and Marian University, Fond du Lac. Currently, I am a part-time Director with Marian with the responsibilities of the college track police certification program, student advising, and recruting for the adult accelerated program (MAAP) in the Fox Valley area. I am married to my wife Jill and I have two children ages 8 and 5. I coach youth basketball, soccer, and Little League Baseball. |
